Add Media problem
-
Could you both let me know what your ISPs (internet service provider) are? I ask because we had previous reports of the Add Media option not working for some users in the UK and elsewhere, and I want to make sure that this isn’t the case for either of you.

I am using Time Warner Cable
I have:
IE10 – WP will not not work on this.
Chrome – WP works well on this -
Hi thombradley,
Thanks, that helps. We tested your Add Media button in IE 10, and everything seems to be working, so we suspect it could be browser settings on your end. You might try adding *.wordpress.com and *.wp.com to your trusted sites in IE and see if that helps.

Alternately, we find that our users typically have better luck using Chrome, as you have discovered, so you might keep using that.

I’m also on Time Warner Cable. Firefox is a bit different that IE10. Any suggestions on how I can make this work?

Hi geekonadiet,
Okay, I’d like you to try a few things.
1) Please log out of WordPress.com, clear your browser cache, and log back in.
http://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/#clear-your-cache-and-cookies2) If that doesn’t help, please try another browser, such as IE or Safari or Chrome. If your Add Media button works then, it’s something going on with Firefox.
3) Disable all Firefox extensions and add-ons, and repeat step 1.
4) If you are still experiencing the same issues, please take a screenshot of any error message or issues as you try to add media to the site, so we can see exactly what is going on. Since you can’t upload images to your media library, you can post the screenshot on a free image sharing service like imgur.com or to a dropbox or similar account, so I can see what you are seeing.

I’ve tried clearing the cache in firefox and that did not work. I also tried IE 10 and Chrome and it didn’t work there either. It did work on my laptop at home though so I guess its possible it has something to do with our server at work. Thanks for trying to help, but as long as I can access it from home I think I’ll be fine.

HI geekonadiet,
Interesting. I’m sorry to hear it, but it sounds like there very well may be a block on WordPress.com at your employer. Depending on where you work, you might talk to the folks in IT to see if that can be resolved.
