Add more than 1 featured image as a free WordPress.com user

    Hi all

    My question is:

    ‘Is it possible to add more than one featured image on a free wordpress.com account?’

    I can see that there are upgraded plans: personal, premium and business, which I am not sure whether I need at present.

    I have seen mentions of people using ‘plugins’ to add additional featured images to blog posts, but do plugins actually work on free plan accounts and are they actually supported by WordPress?

    If anyone could recommend a nice easy way to add more than one featured image to blog posts that doesn’t involve complex html coding and is supported and safe to use with WordPress.com, I would be very grateful.

    Hi,

    Featured images is ideally a single image that represents the theme of your blog post.

    When you say you want to add multiple featured images to a single blog post, that’s not possible and that just does not make sense. You can learn about what featured images are here.

    Although, note that you can add multiple images to a single blog post. You can learn how to add multiple images to your blog post here or how to create galleries on WordPress.com blog posts or WordPress.com pages here.

    Plus, if it helps clarify better, you can create any number of blog posts/pages on your WordPress.com site and set a single featured image to all such blog posts/pages.

    Installing plugins is possible on your WordPress.com site only if it’s on the WordPress.com Business plan.

    Thank you Strikebuys, that answered my question. I thought as a free member one could only have one image per post which was the featured image. Great to know that it is as simple as dragging and dropping to add multiple featured images to a single blog post.

    Just to clarify again, that means adding multiple images to your blog posts. It’s not “adding multiple featured images” which is not ideally possible.
