Add more than the suggested widget on the website

I am new to wordpress and read about interesting plugins and widgets that do not figure in my dashboard. I was wondering if I can add them manually knowing that I use the online form of wordpress. I just suscribed and opened my blog via the website not by uploading the files to a hosting server.

You can, if the code they provide is flash: javascript and iframes aren’t allowed, for security reasons. See here for sample collections:

Hi there, I am new to WordPress. I am considering utilizing a World Map (Google Maps?) in my blog but I don’t seem to find the right plugin in order to embed it to my blog. Not sure I can do this at all in WordPress.com. Any suggestions?

@sebawei: you can indeed embed Google Maps in your WordPress.com blog. See http://en.support.wordpress.com/google-maps/
@ghassanhaddad: You cannot add third-party plugins to a WordPress.com website. For that you would have to set up a self-hosted site using WordPress.com. For information on the differences between WordPress.com and WordPress.org, go to http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
