Add New Page, not adding?
-
Hello,
I’ve just added a new page in the usual way but it hasn’t appeared in the usual place – upper right next to my blog name/slogan.
This is what I did for reference:
Clicked ‘Pages’ from left handside menu in dashboard
Add New
Filled out details – title, description (no Parent)
Pressed PublishThe page is here:
http://fashionthatpays.wordpress.com/dress-up-fancy-friday/I also edited the title of my About page and pressed Update but it hasn’t changed. I edited it from ‘About me? Little ‘ol me?’ to just ‘Little ‘ol me?’.
I’ve refreshed my homepage a few times and looked on another browser but there’s no difference.
I’d appreciate some assistance please.
Many thanks.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hello there,
Troubleshooting – My Pages aren’t appearing
They must be public pages – not private and not drafts so check the page visibility setting http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/page-visibility/.
Public – The page will be visible to everyone.
Protected – The page is protected with a password you set. Only people who have the password can view a protected page.
Private – Pages are only visible to blog Editors and Administrators. Private pages are not visible in Reader, feeds, or in any search. A page can be private without being password protected.
http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/If you have created a custom menu then add the Page to it.

Note that you can enable this on your custom menu settings at the bottom of the page:

Hi there,
thank you for your time, I appreciate it.
I’ve checked them and they are public, not password protected, not drafts and not part of a custom menu (I don’t have any of those).
Abit confused now :-S

The ‘Auto add pages’ option was not enabled at https://fashionthatpays.wordpress.com/wp-admin/nav-menus.php . I’ve just enabled this for you.
Please let us know if you need any further assistance!

Thanks for that! I never used to add/edit pages there that I can remember, but I’ve just learned that if I want to make edits and move pages around that’s the place as updating under the ‘Pages’ tab doesn’t update my mainpage anymore. Weird but it’s helpful because now I know that I can have as many pages as I want and put them up at different times through the Menu button. Thanks again!

Also thank you timethief for putting the information there already, you are so knowledgeable and helpful to give your time like this. When I first looked at the menu page I didn’t recognize it/realize it for what it was as I didn’t remember it so it didn’t click to me that I had to do anything as I couldn’t relate it to what you’d shown me. Sometimes the obvious isn’t really obvious even when it’s staring you in the face it seems. Sorry about that!
