Add New Post function not working
-
I am unable to “Add New” post since the Add New template for in the last couple of days. Will this be fixed soon?

Did so, and to no avail. A week later and the same problem is occurring. I can publish a new post from the main wordpress.com home page using the Add New button, but am unable to do so from my own page. This has never happened to me before and I have been publishing new posts from within my own page for months. Why is this?

I’d like to rule-out a browser-specific issue.
Would you please try Firefox?

Actually, I think it IS a browser issue! I tried the normal way of posting from my website in Safari, and it worked just like it used to. So there must be a bug with using Google Chrome, now that the posting function has been changed/upgraded in the last couple of weeks. Do you think this will be fixed anytime? I can use Safari if need be, but Chrome is my browser of choice. Thanks!

Hm, I also use Chrome as my primary browser, but haven’t been coming across this problem. Just to get a better idea of what might be causing this, could you let me know what version of Chrome you’re using, as well as your operating system (and version)?
When you try clicking on the “Add New” button when in Chrome, can you let me know what happens? Do you see any error message or does the page simply not load?

I am using Google Chrome 15.0.874.121.
This only started happening when the Add New Post interface changed the way it looked. That is, one day a couple of weeks ago, I noticed that the Add Image function had changed slightly and there was a new big drop box for Add Media that wasnt there before. That didn’t seem odd, just appeared like some sort of programming upgrade must have happened with WordPress. But from that point on I was unable to add a new post like I always had–that is, to create a new post on my site and simply hit the Publish button. What happens now is: I click “Publish” and everything on my screen flickers then changes font appearance slightly… but nothing has been published–the draft of my post would still be sitting there. THEN, if I hit Publish again–it totally disappears! Blank screen! I was able to retrieve what I wrote the first time this happened by hitting the back button on my browser, thankfully. I retried many times, even several days later, and this same situation occurred. The only way I have been able to Publish a new post (using Chrome) was to go to the main WordPress website and use the Add New Post function there. For some reason that worked. And then, a couple days ago, I tried adding a new post via my website, the old-fashioned way, and it worked when I used Safari. So there MUST be some sort of Chrome bug, right? This might be easier to talk through by phone but not sure if that is a support option, so let me know.

Are you running any extensions with Chrome? If so, would you mind disabling those to see if that makes a difference?

-
And to reiterate my Chrome usage and setup has not changed at all — only the WordPress Add Post interface changed.

You can see if you’re running extensions by choosing “Extensions” from the “Window” menu.

No–i use no plugins at all, if that is what you mean by full-screen editor.
Here is all I am doing. From my website homepage (www.1107photography.wordpress.com) I click on the dropdown menu, click New then Post, and I get a full screen Add New Post page. I have a choice then of Visual or HTML in which to enter my text and add my image/photo. This is what I have used for months.

Well, how about that? That seemed to have worked! Guess I’ll just stick to visual instead of HTML at least for the time being. Thank you for the perseverance and suggestions.
