Add new site to my account

    Hi There,

I would like to add a ‘Blog’ and a ‘Help Centre’ for my business but manage both of these under the one wordpress account. I tried adding a new site but it’s not loading… perhaps it is because my blog is using the following domain https://skodel.com/ and I would like to use the same domain for my help centre. However, one would be skodel.com/blog and the other skodel.com/support.

Does this make sense? How can I set this up? By the way, I’m a free customer right now but plan on upgrading soon, not sure if that will make a difference.

    WP.com: Yes
    Jetpack: No
    Correct account: Yes

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hi there,

You can indeed create a separate blog and support website, and then link these to your main website. The most popular and supported method on WordPress.com for doing this is by using subdomains. This means your blog and support sites would have URLs like https://blog.skodel.com/ and https://support.skodel.com/, respectively. You can learn more here: https://wordpress.com/support/domains/connect-subdomain/

To set this up, each site on a subdomain will need its own separate plan. For your blog, you might consider our Starter or Explorer plan, which are great for basic and intermediate needs. If your support site requires more advanced features, like advanced search capabilities or the ability to provide chat support, our Creator plan would be a suitable choice. This plan allows you to install plugins to enable such features, enhancing the functionality of your support site.

You can explore all our plans and their features here: https://wordpress.com/pricing/. This will give you a better understanding of what each plan offers and how it aligns with your needs.

If you have any questions or need further guidance on how to proceed, please don’t hesitate to ask. We’re here to help you every step of the way.
