  I have no add new theme button in this area:/wp-admin/themes.php

  I am trying to upload a custom theme to my site, is this because premium is required?

  It’s because you can’t upload themes purchased elsewhere to a WordPress.com site. You’d need self-hosted WordPress.org for that.

  Hi there,

  You aren’t able to upload custom themes on WordPress.com.
  See here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/themes/adding-new-themes/

  All available themes are in the Theme Showcase.
  https://theme.wordpress.com/

  Once you have found a theme that you like, you can give it a test run with demo, or activate it.
