"Add New User" option/button missing

  I teach at San Diego City College and have been using my WordPress blog to facilitate student communication for several years. During yesterday’s class, I attempted to add students as users and discovered that the usual “Add New Users” button or option was missing. The button was replaced by “Invite New,” which I did, but hit a dead-end.

  I’ve emailed support (no answer) and have been unable to find a solution via Google, WordPress support or the forum. Any help would be much appreciated so I can get these students online. Thanks!

  Staff have changed this whole process.

  If you’re a blog Administrator and you’d like to make someone a Contributor, Author, or Editor on your site, please follow the directions on adding contributors. http://en.support.wordpress.com/adding-users/

  Thank you, timethief! I guess I’ll try it that way– I had inadvertently invited students as followers instead of authors. What bugs me, though, is that if you look at the jpg I posted, you’ll see that there is no “Add New User” option, even though it’s shown on the support page you linked to! Grrr…

  I’m so sorry the documentation is outdated and you have had such a hard time with this. I will ask Staff to update the support entry.

  Well, your light-in-the-darkness assistance is greatly appreciated! I should know soon if this new Rube Goldberg-esque method of adding users succeeds for our class.

  hello timethief – I went to these instructions but I do not appear to have the “Invite New” option in my Users menu – am I doing something wrong?

  essentially, I am running a number of different wordpress sites which I currently log into separately with different usernames and passwords – I’d like to add my main account (eighty0ne) as an Admin to all of them, so they appear in my WordPress My Blogs dashboard – perhaps there is an easier way? thanks
