Add New Users problems – Please help

I sent invitations to a friend of mine. He accepted my invitation and registered with WordPress. I put his email address in Users>Add user from community (then I select role for him) and I clicked Add Users. But I always received the Message: “That email address does not belong to any user here. Would you like to invite that person to use WordPress.com?”. I do it again and again, but still receive the same message.
I wonder why my friend already registered with WordPress, but WP did not accept him as community user?.

Double check that that is the email address that they used to sign up for their account here. Accounts here are tied to email addresses.

He gave me his correct email address that he used to sign up with WordPress.
– By the way, I sent two invitations to two of my friends. They accepted my invitations and registered with WP, but I succeeded in adding new user for one only. I am sure that the correct email address is used in the process. -
Then you need to contact staff. It wordpress is saying it isn’t recognizing the email address then that is what it means. It cannot fine that email address in the user database. There is either a hiccup in the system or the email address you entered for that username is not correct, or the username is incorrect.
