Add Plugin

Im trying to add a plugin but I don’t see the plugin button anywhere in the admin panel.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

You can’t use/add/install plugins on WordPress.com for security reasons:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/plugins/
https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/plug-in-71?replies=6#post-2605066BTW, that button never existed on blogs hosted by WordPress.com

Um, I had plugged in Stat Counter for a couple years, at least, to my Word Press blog. I removed Stat Counter page temporarily, and now the ability to add it back was removed.
Have proof I had it before.
What gives?
How to get this back? -
P.S.
It simply is not true that you could not add plug-ins, as I said above.
Why was this changed? -
Um, I had plugged in Stat Counter for a couple years, at least, to my Word Press blog. I removed Stat Counter page temporarily, and now the ability to add it back was removed.
Stat Counter is not a plugin.
These are plugins:
https://wordpress.org/plugins/Plugins are for WordPress.org installs and not for blogs/sites hosted by WordPress.com
See the differences:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/It simply is not true that you could not add plug-ins, as I said above.
You wrong, it’s true:
Mark, from WordPress.com SupportI’m sorry but plugins cannot be uploaded here at wordpress.com for security reasons.

What gives?
How to get this back?If you need help with Statcounter, open a new thread, please:

Thanks. -
I’m pretty sure you’re wrong galois. I made a website 3 months ago and used a plethora of plugins. I don’t know what you’re trying to defend here, but it was something available through the dashboard and drop down plugin menu.
-
Again: this forum is for blogs, sites, webs hosted by WordPress.com
And you can’t use/add/install plugins on WordPress.com
If you «made a website 3 months ago and used a plethora of plugins» that web is not hosted by WordPress.com
Do you understand this? ;)
P.S.: what is the URL of your web (https://….)?
-
And I try explain, but you don’t understand that a member of WordPress.com Staff and official documents of WordPress.com says: you don’t use/add/install plugins on WordPress.com
Read:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/plugins/And read:
https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/plug-in-71?replies=6#post-2605066And again, do not confuse users with wrong information.
Thanks. -
galois,
Stat Counter itself says go to plug-ins to add a Word Press blog to Stat Counter. Stat Counter is supposed to come up in the WP Plug-ins:
http://statcounter.com/wordpress.org/It does not come up anymore there. This has changed, since I did use those instructions a couple years ago to install Stat Counter, and it worked. I removed that Stat Counter account within the past 4 weeks. Now, I cannot get this service back into my blog. FYI. And, thanks.

Not to belabor the point, but here is what Stat Counter says about how to add it as a plug-in to WP:
http://statcounter.com/sign-up/snippet/?guide=wordpress.org
Insert Code Snippet – WordPress.org Installation Guide
WordPress.org Plugin Installation
Power Users: you may also install the plugin manually.
(These instructions were tested with WordPress 2.8.2 and 3.1.)
1. Login to your WordPress admin area.
2. Go to ‘Plugins > Add New’
3. Search for ‘StatCounter’
4. The first result should be ‘StatCounter – Free Real Time Visitor Stats’
5.
o Version 2.8.2: Under ‘actions’ click ‘Install’…
In the popup, click the red ‘Install Now’ bar
o Version 3.1: Click ‘Install Now’ at left hand side
6. Depending on your installation, you may have to enter your FTP login details
7. Click ‘Activate Plugin’
8. Go to ‘Settings > StatCounter’ and enter your project id 10945029 and your security code b0f58e7e and hit ‘Update Options’
Alternatively, the StatCounter WordPress Plugin is available for download (zipped). You then need to upload it (ftp or otherwise) into your “wp-content/plugins” folder. Then continue from step 7 above. -
I see you have two threads opened about Statcounter.
Example: https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/cant-add-stat-counter-in-had-it-last-month?replies=1#post-2627946
Wait the response there, please. If you need Staff assistance you can put the modlook tag. -
Hi everyone!
@galois ir correct, it’s not possible to add third-party plugins on a site hosted at WordPress.com. However, WordPress.com sites have many of plugins features built in, you can see more on the link below:
@stopsmartmeterswi, like your text said:
Insert Code Snippet – WordPress.org Installation Guide
WordPress.org Plugin Installation
That means that this “Stat Counter” plugin is only for self-hosted WordPress.org sites. You can check more information about the difference between WordPress.com and WordPress.org sites on the link below:
