Add Portfolio template for Baskerville2

    Hi,

    I’m struggling to have an homepage that looks professional. I was using the tiled jetpack gallery with custom links on a selfhosted wordpress.
    Goal is to link internal pages as homepage but in a designed way…
    Could you please add portfolio support in Baskerville 2 ? I thought that portfolio was a common feature in wordpress.com blogs :(

    Hi there, I’ll pass that request on to our theme developers, but something like that might not be added till the next major release of Baskerville, which could be a while.

    You could use the Portfolio Shortcode feature in Baskerville 2. That works in all themes, but is designed a bit more generically since it has to work with all themes. There are a good number of attributes you can use to control how things will display and what will be included in the display of those items.

    I would suggest taking a look at this filtered list of free themes that fully support the Portfolio feature.

    Hi,
    The issue I’m facing is that I was using a (marvelous) tiled gallery from Jetpack with custom links (plugin) in the past as an homepage, but now that I moved to wordpress.com, I can’t reproduce such a thing :(

    And when I try with portfolio, the result is not really great either… :(

    It’s possible to use the gallery shortcode on the home page of your site. Were you able to get that set up? What are you dissatisfied with? More details will help.

    Hi,
    I cannot use the gallery shortcode as each image should link to a custom link (instead of the image itself).
    My current homepage is a desperate try to have a decent homepage linking to my pages.

    Where would you like the first image on the front page of the site, under Publications, title Duex Secondes En Moins to link to? Please share that URL with me here and I’ll see if I can fashion something that will work for you.
