Add Post Meta Data to Bottom of Post
-
My post meta data shows up at the top of each post instead of the bottom. I am fine with having it at the top, but I would like it at the bottom too. I believe this has something to do with my Clean Home theme. Could someone tell me how to add my post meta data to the bottom of my posts as well?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

You cannot duplicate it at the top and bottom if that is what you are wanting. That would require “hacking” of the theme PHP script files and <a href=”http://en.support.wordpress.com/themes/editing-themes/
“>we cannot edit theme files at wordpress.com. -
Also, having tags and categories duplicated on posts will not be looked on fondly by the search engines. They only want to see one set of tags and categories for a post. If they see multiples they thing you are trying to pull a fast one on theme.

Well is there at least a way to move it so it’s at the bottom of my post? I’m afraid people won’t think to comment because they’ll finish reading the post and won’t see any comment links.

Are you putting the rules (hr) at the bottom of your posts? That is going to mess things up when putting the post metadata at the bottom of the posts. We can of you wish put a bottom border below the post metadata to separate the posts, but actually the metadata should work well as a separator just by itself.

I’m not sure what you mean by “rules.” If it’s something I need to get rid of in order to put the metadata at the bottom, then that’s fine. I just need to know what to get rid of.

I just activated clean home on my test site and I see it has a bottom border on the posts that it inserts and you have modified that to be thicker and dashed instead of dotted. Let me see if I can figure out a way to keep that and have it below the metadata.

Thanks so much! If I have to get rid of it to have the meta data at the bottom, let me know.

Add the following to the bottom of your CSS so it overrides everything else and see what you think.
.hentry hr { margin-top: 80px; width: 560px; } .hentry { padding: 0 30px; position: relative; } .post-meta { position: absolute; bottom: 10px; padding-right: 30px; }
