add post under page
-
Hey
We are two girls that want to post on the same blog. We have added a name for each of os one a page so we have each of our name on each our page. We want to add posts so the will appear on the frontpage, but also one the page. So if person 1 post i would be onthe frontpage but also on the person 1 page. But when we make a post how do we make sure that it also will be posted one the page we want?
We have found that it maybe won’t be possible but then how can we solve our problem? Thanks in advance ;-)

We need a link to your wordpress.COM blog to help. And consider linking it to your user name as explained in the sticky, 8 Things, at the top of the forums

Hi Frynefrans: I’m a newbie here, too, and I spent hours last night trying to figure out this same question. The answer, as far as I can tell, is that ALL posts go on the front page, that is the nature of blogging … it’s a chronological log. To have each of your posts show up separately, you can create categories. Then when you create a new blog, you would categorize it as Person 1 or person 2. If someone wants to read the blogs by person 1, they can just click on the person 1 link. Does that make sense? I hope so. If I’m completely wrong about this, hopefully one of the more experienced bloggers will set us straight. Good luck!

@Olivia: No, you’re not at all wrong about it (the only thing that can be added is that once you create a category, there’s a way you can have it as a header tab too).
What you’re not very right about is that when an experienced member (such as Vivian above) asks for a link to the blog instead of actually answering, there’s a reason. We get a lot of wrong visits, so we need to make sure it’s a wp.com blog; often we also need to check things in the blog itself before we can give an answer that applies. So the general policy is not answering questions without the blog link, and informing new visitors here on the need for this first.

Oh sorry I did’nt know that. My blog is http://frynsefrans.wordpress.com/
We want both ouf our post to go on the frontpage, but if you are only interessed in person 1 we want to press person 1 and only be able to see the post of person 1. I hope it makes sense.

In that case, frynsefrans, you want to follow oliviatejeda’s advice. When you post, assign it a category for each author.
To make these into pages, you will need to create pages with titles something like this:
<a href="http://YOURBLOGURL/category/author1">Author One</a> <a href="http://YOURBLOGURL/category/author2">Author Two</a>The only thing you need to be careful about is that for some reason the name of the page needs to have a space in it. If you are using just one word, put a space before or after it like this:
<a href="http://YOURBLOGURL/category/author1">Author </a> -
@frynsefrans: If you wish, you can also create and upload avatars for the two of you, and add the Authors widget so that your names and avatars will show in the sidebar.
-
Yes, and the Author widget works so that people can click and get just that author’s posts, along with their little profile paragraph. It’s handy.

Rosclarke: I guess I understand the thing with the html codes, but where do you want me to add those then? Can I do it without using that program called CSS? :)
-
You do not need to use CSS for this. You just put those codes in the title of the page, when you create the page.
