Add posts by category to a page, not a menu

I’ve been trying for over 2 hours now to do what I thought would be an an incredibly simple and straightforward task, yet in that process I’ve managed to mangle my primary menu, delete it by accident and I’m still no further in what I want.

I want to add pages to my menu at the top of the screen and then place specific blog posts in them so that the categories are easily accessed at a glance when someone comes on the site rather than just having them all splashed on the front page. Really simple yes? However, I can’t seem to be able to do this and It’s driving me mad. The side category menu isn’t obvious enough and I’d rather have them at the top.

Is it even possible? It seems like such a natural and easy way to organise things so I’ll be monumentally stunned if it’s not, and if so then I’ll have to make multiple accounts because no-one wants to look at articles about old computer games or films and then have to wade through political posts or vice versa.

Just to reiterate, this is not a request for adding posts to a menu, I am trying to find out if I can add posts by category to a PAGE and then that page can be part of my main menu at the top of the screen.

    Thank you.

    Hi,

Yes, this is possible, and how to do it is simple and straightforward. Just follow the instructions in the Category Pages support page. A category page displays posts assigned to that category and posts are not automatically added to the menu. They may be added, but it’s not necessary.
