Add profile photo near header?

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hello,

Is there any way to use CSS to add a profile photo of myself to the header of my blog? I know there must be, but I am not experienced with CSS so off-the-shelf is best for me.

Alternately, are there any default themes that allow for an author’s photo right near the top? I didn’t see one.

    Thanks a bunch!

    -Susan

You can create a sub page title “Author Profile” and use a profile image & Link the image to
the sub page then insert it into a text widget so your readers can access the sub page by
clicking the profile image.(Note this does not require CSS to achieve what I have mentioned)

If you want your photo in your header, you treat it like any backgrounds

    #header {background:url('http://la.la.la.jpg') center top #000;}

You have to twist the code though, to match your liking and the theme you’re using.

    Great thanks!

I don’t actually want the photo in place of the header image. Rather, I want it to be at the top (i.e. in push down the blogroll space, and have the photo as the first box).

My blog is here for reference:

    Great quick responses, thanks again.

You can make a banner that just has your photo on one side. Or you can put it in a text widget in your sidebar.

FYI when you post links, always start them with http so they’re clickable here in teh forum.

teck07, i added the text widget, but have no idea how to get my photo and ‘About’ blurb to actually show up in that box. Any tips?

@susanfsu, Look at the link raincoaster provided. It explains how to get an image into the text widget. After you have the image in there, it is simply a matter of adding the about text after the image code.
