add “share this” to every post

Add topic to favorites
I have downloaded the “share this” file but do not understand where to go from here: ??how do I put the folder into my “wp-content/plugins’ directory??

First of all, you’re in a the wrong forum. This forum is for wordpress.com blogs. Secondly, it’s easier to add the Share this plugin using ‘Add New’ in the Plugins menu; then it installs automatically, and all you have to do is change the settings.

Oh, are you attempting to add Share this to a wordpress.com blog? No can do. I recommend using GetSocial

erm… i might be wrong because I am new to this – but I added a share this button to mine by pasting the html code into a text box widget in the sidebar.
Works as far as I can tell.

It works in the sidebar, but generally will only be used by people looking at your main blog page, and so it mostly just recommends the ENTIRE blog, not one particular post.

I use GetSocial, it works better and with more prominent buttons people are more likely to click on them. Also, it always recommends SPECIFIC posts.

Also, if you use firefox and know anything about Greasemonkey, theres a script that automatically creates social networking buttons while in edit post mode, I modified it to add the Add This button. Just want to throw that out there.

No, it’s one at a time. Batch processing has been requested, but as of yet it’s not available.

Anyone have recommendations for apps like GetSocial that are Mac-compatible? I don’t use Windows.

I too use a Mac and posted a similar question few days back. Guess there isn’t any such application.

There are other options to GetSocial, but none are as easy.
