Add sidebar to homepage

  I have the Visual Theme, and would like a widget displaying categories on the sidebar on the home page. The category widget only displays on my addiitonal pages and i cannot add widgets to the Home page.

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Widgets
  You can configure a sidebar on single posts and pages by going to Appearance → Widgets.
