Add SIDEBAR to static front page in CANAPE theme
-
Theme: CANAPE
I would like to add a sidebar to my homepage. The exact same side bar that is on every page of my website.
I had a sidebar on the front page/homepage previously and I changed things so that my blog posts would be the first thing that a visitor would see at studioCwest.com. This also had a side bar. Recently, I change things back to a static front page. When I visited the site today I noticed the missing sidebar.
Please help.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

To be clear one cannot add a sidebar to any theme that is not designed to have one. Also note that if the theme is designed to have a sidebar when using a apeeofic layout then you have to set widget visibility.
https://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/#widget-visibilityEvery theme has a detailed theme description page with set up instructions like this one https://wordpress.com/themes/canape/ and a live demo site like this one https://canapedemo.wordpress.com/
That is where you need to go at this point and then scroll down to Widget Areas on that page.

Looks like you’ve switched to Orvis, but to answer your question about Canape:
Canape has a sidebar on the blog page, as well as single posts, which you can see in these examples from the demo:
Blog: https://canapedemo.wordpress.com/news/
Single: https://canapedemo.wordpress.com/2011/09/20/winter-menu/
It also includes two footer widget areas (displayed everywhere) and three front-page widget areas, which are visible when the front page is set to a static page.
If you need further help just let me know.
