    Dear Help Center,

Could you please help me to add social media icons to the menu of my chunk theme blog?
I have no css knowledge, but I can follow step by step instructions.

  • Hi there – do you want to replace your navigation menu links with icons? If so, that’s rather complicated, but you can easily add your social media icons to a Text widget in your sidebar or footer.

You’d first want to upload the icons you want to use for your social services to your Media Library. Then, you’d paste HTML similar to the following in a Text widget:

    <div><a href="[full link to your Pinterest]"><img class="alignnone" title="Pinterest" src="[image URL for Pinterest icon]" alt="" width="35" height="35" /></a> <a href="[full link to your Facebook page]"><img class="alignnone" title="Facebook" src="[image URL for Facebook icon]" alt="" width="35" height="35" /></a> <a href="mailto:[email address]"><img class="alignnone" title="Email" src="[image URL for Email icon]" alt="" width="35" height="35" /></a><a href="[full link to your RSS feed]"><img class="alignnone" title="Email" src="[image URL for RSS icon]" alt="" width="35" height="35" /></a></div>

You’ll likely have to play with the width and height values a bit to get all the icons lining up the way you want.

The other option is to use the Gravatar profile widget:
    http://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/gravatar-profile-widget/

If you add your social media accounts to your Gravatar profile (there’s a link for how to do this in that document), and check ‘Show Account Links’ in the widget settings, it will show your social media icons below your profile picture.

Let me know how that works for you! :)

    Hi Judit,

Putting the social media icons in the navigation menu or header is a bit more complicated, but it may be possible using custom CSS. Most of our CSS support is done in our community forums by both staff and volunteers:
    https://en.forums.wordpress.com/forum/css-customization

When you create a CSS-related help request, please make sure to select or link to the WordPress.com blog you’re working on and include a clear description of the change you’re trying to make. It really helps.

To learn more about how CSS editing works at WordPress.com, see this help page:

If you need to hire a consultant to help you with in-depth design work or large CSS revisions, please consider getting a quote from Tweaky:

    I hope this helps!
