Add 'start here' button

Hi. I have a blog with about 15 entries and I’d like to add a button on the home page that says, ‘If this is your first time here, you’ll want to read this first.’ (and include a link to the first blog post. How do I do that? Thanks for the help!

You could have the first post on your site as a “sticky” post so it always stays at the top of your blog and includes a link to your first post, or you could even edit your first post to be a “sticky” post which would move that post back to the top.

Another way to do it is to have the top widget in your sidebar (or maybe the second one, just above your “recent posts” widget, and under the follow widget) be a text widget (can also include a picture) with either a short intro to your blog, or else a ‘start here’ link that takes them to your first post, or to an “about” page that introduces them to you and your blog.
That’s how I used to do it when I had a theme with a similar format to yours.
Now I have a different them where I have a row of several “sticky” post excerpts that always show at the top, so I’ve put my “start here” post up there as one of them. My blog isn’t very bloggy, though, it’s more of a tutorial site.
I like the way yours looks. An “intro” widget would fit right in.
