Add subscription link within post?

    Hi,

    I’m wondering if it is possible to add a link within my posts that will allow readers to subscribe? I currently have a subscription widget on my page, but would like to add a “Subscribe” option with link at the bottom of each post as well. Without switching to Feedburner, is there a way to do this?

    There is no automatic way to make such a phrase and link appear on every post without you manually adding it.

    Since the “subscribe” code is handled in the back end, and is not something we can get hold of, there is no way to put it into posts.

    About all I can suggest is to put a reminder at the bottom of each post telling visitors they can subscribe from the widget in the sidebar.

    You CAN, however, put an RSS subscription link at the bottom of each post. Only relatively techie people will know what that is, though.

    This is really too bad.
    I’m going to go back to Feedburner to get better control over the Subscribe option.

    I also like the fact that in Feedburner I can add a footer into every emailed post so that people can SEE what website the burn is coming from. The WordPress burn doesn’t identify the website (except in the ‘from’ address in the email address).

    I also like the fact that Feedburner does NOT immediately burn the feed to subscribers like WordPress does. This gives me a chance to make edits before people see the post in their email.
