    Hi Dennis.

Do you have an example link where I could view the kind of text boxes you’re trying to add to your site?

I took a look at the demo site for the theme you’re using, Watson, and was able to see the following style guide which features some shaded text boxes at the bottom:

    https://watsondemo.wordpress.com/styling/

If those were type of text boxes you were thinking of, then you can add them to a post/page directly from within your editor. Watson adds a set of buttons to the editor’s toolbar that can be accessed by clicking on the ‘Toolbar Toggle.’ The following screenshot highlights the Toolbar Toggle and the third row of buttons that it unveils in the editor:

You can highlight text within the editor and then choose one of those buttons in order to style it.

Hope this helps! Please do let me know if you have any extra questions around that.

Thanks so much and yes this does help. The problem is that the third line (bottom) of the tool bar shows up on my ipad but not on my computer. I’m going to work on it later today and figure it out. If you’ve got any wordpress knowledge that can help let me know!

OK. I think I figured it out. There’s a note at the top of the page that allows the third line of the tool bar that reads…
There’s now an easier way to create on WordPress.com! Switch to the improved posting experience.
If I click on that, it does not allow for the third tool bar. Improved to a point…

    Hi Dennis.

Looking further into this, I can see that the extra row of buttons don’t display in our new editor. They only display in the classic editor. The classic editor can be accessed directly from WP Admin:

    https://actlikemenblog.wordpress.com/wp-admin/

If you hover over Posts or Pages on the left-hand and then ‘Add New’ or view ‘All Posts/Pages,’ you’ll be able to get to the editor directly.

I’m also going to let the team behind the new editor know about this issue.

    Hope that helps out!

    Hi Dennis.

I’ve chatted further with our team about this and found that the custom buttons that were added to the Watson theme aren’t going to be ported over to the new editor. If you need to use them you can access the classic editor or use the HTML code for each style within the new editor.

I’ve contacted the theme’s author directly to ask if they can update their documentation with the HTML code for each style also. I’ll let you know when I hear back!
