Add Text to Overlay in Digg3
-
Is there a way with CSS to add text under my header image on the overlay using CSS?
Here is my site:
http://workinjurylaw.wordpress.com/On top of the overlay image on the left hand side opposite the search option and under the picture of the construction workers, I would like to add the title of my site. Digg 3 does not allow for a tagline option as far as I can tell.
Thank you
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

You can put it into a text widget and then we can style and move that text widget up and into that area. If you put that text widget with your tagline into the left sidebar at the top and let us know when you have it there, we can work on getting it positioned for you.

Ok, I put the text in a widget with font and color that I want, except it changed the color and font inside the blogs as well.

Actually I just looked at the CSS on Digg3 and this isn’t going to work since there is not an overall container div that encloses all the content.
I would suggest that you create a header image that includes a grey area at the bottom to match the header and overlay together and put the tagline directly into that image. Then we can position that image where the existing overlay/header is.
Here is the overlay image for reference: http://s1.wp.com/wp-content/themes/pub/digg3/images/bg_header_overlay.png?m=1317421557g .
You can probably just put your header image over that on a separate layer, add your tagline and then save it. Then you would upload it to the media library, give use the URL of that image and we can work on getting the existing stuff replaced by it.

Use inline CSS for styling text. Most of the standard HTML tags for styling are on the way out, or are gone.
Moot point on this as I said since we can’t use the normal trick with this theme.

Ok, thank you. I am going to gave to wait until I purchase a new image for the header – this is for my boss so I need to wait for him to approve. And even then, he doesn’t have any photo editing software so I don’t know if this is going to work.

There are several free image editing program out there that are quite good. GIMP is probably my favorite and is feature-rich.

Ok, I made a new header image which includes the text I want, my header image, and the grey part. What do I do now?

See the other thread you started. I gave you something to try there.
