add third-party Theme

  Hello! I would like to add special Theme for my WordPress blog. I can’t find option “add new Theme” in settings. Looks like it is possible only by using FTP. Could you give me step-by-step instruction how to change Theme of my blog to third-party Theme? I have *.zip archive of my new Theme. Thank you in advance for support.

  That’s not possible here at WordPress.COM period. The only themes we can use on WordPress.com blogs like your blog are licensed and adapted to run on our multiuser software the themes are found here http://wordpress.com/themes/

  There is no FTP access to free hosted WordPress.com blogs for security reasons and we cannot:
  upload any third party themes,
  create child themes,
  create our own themes,
  edit templates,
  create own own layouts,
  or use stylesheets from other themes.

  There is no upgrade you can purchase that changes that.

  WordPress.org offers free software that you can install on a web server. You can create themes, upload and install themes and plugins, run ads, and edit the database, etc. If you want FTP access and to install plugins or third party themes into a site then you will have to hire a web host http://wordpress.org/hosting/ and set up your own WordPress.org install.

  As I know WordPress had Download option for third-party Themes before.

  Anyway, I am using hosting address rudnev.lv for my blog. Am I understand you correctly, it is possible to use third-party Themes if blog is located at hosting address, and it is impossible if it is located at WordPress?

  That’s not possible on a WordPress.COM hosted blog like http://rudnev.lv/
  It is possible only on a WordPress.ORG install.

  It has nothing to do with the domain name. It has to do with the version of the software and all software on blogs hosted at WordPress.com disallows third party themes, for security reasons.
