Add Third Party Theme

    Hi,
    I want to add a third party theme to my brand new site, but I’m afraid that I messed up my dashboard. There is no “Add New Theme” button in my themes section.

    I first grabbed the URL under irarelystopreading.wordpress.org, then bought the domain, but now my dashboard is still irarelystopreading.wordpress.org/wp-admin. Is there no way for me to upload my third party theme? Again, the “Add new theme” button is not available in my dashboard.

    You are reading instructions for WordPress.ORG installs. That button does not exist on wordpress.COM hosted sites. You cannot upload any custom themes or third party themes or create your own theme here at wordpress.COM. You can do that only on wordpress.ORG installs on paid hosting.

    There is no FTP access to wordpress.COM hosted blogs like that site linked to your username and no upgrade changes that reality.

    The only themes we can use on WordPress.com hosted blogs are licensed and adapted to run on our multiuser software the themes are found here http://wordpress.com/themes/ and in your dashboard at > Appearance > Themes

    There is no upgrade you can buy here that changes that.

    WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and have different username accounts, logins, features, run different versions of some themes with the same names, and have separate support documentation and separate support forums.     For a wordpress.ORG software install on paid hosting if you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG account, then click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right-hand corner of the page that opens, https://wordpress.org/support/register.php so you can post to the support forums there.
