How do I add a Trip Advisor widget to my side bar? The link Trip Advisor provided is an image with a link to a URL.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I Googled Trip Advisor Widget and found what follows:
To add a TripAdvisor widget to your site, you simply insert a line of HTML into your site’s source code. We also make it easy for you to email the required code to your webmaster.
We WordPress.com bloggers cannot access or edit the source code files on free hosted WordPress.com blogs. It’s seems it’s tracking and ratings code and you cannot use it on your blog. http://en.support.wordpress.com/code/
However, a badge is an image and provided the code is strictly HTML and is not JavaScript or an iframe code you simply copy and paste it into a text widget. http://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/text-widget/

Thank you. I did try that, but the image part of the link keeps disappearing when I click save (after I paste the html code from Trip Advisor into the text widget box). All I get is a a hyperlink link text, not the Trip Advisor image. What else can be done to get the image to display? (We have a “Certificate of Excellence Award” from Trip Advisor that I would like to display.)

Thank you “timethief”. I’m not super savvy when it comes to code-talk, but I think I understand your comments to mean that it’s possible that the Trip Advisor code which would display the badge image is not allowed on WordPress for some reason. Sorry if I’m not understanding fully. Thank you anyway for trying to help.

If the code is being stripped out, it is NOT “a picture and a link” code. Paste the code here between backticks so it displays and we can suggest ways to adapt it.

What I am saying is you cannot use the widget provided. However, you can capture the image, “save image as” to your computer, then upload it to your blog and link it back to the Trip Advisor site.

Thank you, raincoaster. Here is the code I copied from the Trip Advisor site. This code works perfectly on our home page web site. <div id=”TA_certificateOfExcellence210″ class=”TA_certificateOfExcellence”>
<ul id=”sSjZu3g” class=”TA_links DEnZhtJxpKT”>
<li id=”yy9F8YJHSX” class=”KbXXCsj6B”>Schreiner’s Iris Gardens</div>
<script src=”http://www.jscache.com/wejs?wtype=certificateOfExcellence&uniq=210&locationId=284689&lang=en_US&year=2013″></script> -
Thank you, timethief. I appreciate all the quick responses to my question! I didn’t expect to receive so much help so quickly. I will await a reply on raincoater’s suggestion as well.

We cannot use JavaScript codes. I’ve been through this all before with other bloggers. Forget that code and do as I said above please.
