Add users to blog without creating their own blogs?

  I’d like to allow multiple people to post to a blog, and by far the cleanest way would be to add them as authors to the blog. But, I can’t figure out how to do so without being forced to create blogs for them too; I don’t want them to have their own blogs, it just makes things messier (and greatly restricts the set of usernames to chose from). Is that possible?

  They need to have their own blog.
  One way to preserve the namespace is to use your blog name as the root name and add to that:

  igx89.wordpress.com
  igx891.wordpress.com
  igx892.wordpress.com
  igx893.wordpress.com .. you get the idea. Not perfect but it works…

  will there be another solution for this? we have a blog for all the people from our batch in school – about 100 of us. we have now managed to locate about 35 and quite a few of them have signed on to the blog ( http://lmog.blogspot.com ). i was thinking of transfering it to wordpress as it’s easier to navigate plus the added advantage of built in categories but I dont think i’d ever be able to convince them open up their own blogs :( i hope you are looking at an easier option.
