Add Via Url

  Before the new update, I was able to add links from other sites such as Youtube, Soundcloud etc. but now when I click “Add Media” then “Add via url” and plug in the outside link (youtube) an error message pops up saying “The file could not be uploaded because the file type is not supported” If the new update does not allow us to add outside links to put on to my blog. I would have to change my blog site which I don’t want to do because I love wordpress. This feature is very important because I’m a music blogger & if they are not supported, I will move. I hope we can solve this.

  I have this inquiry as well.
  Why would you get rid of such an obvious necessity?
  We all use youtube.

  Hi there,

  You can use the old interface at https://iamlavishp.com/wp-admin/ and add a link to a YouTube video just like before.

  Another way of doing this through the new user interface would be to click on the HTML tab in order to edit the code of the page and a link directly to the YouTube video you would like to display.

  Hi there Luis,

  You can now just copy and paste the link while editing your post/page in order to embed an image or YouTube video directly on your page.
