Add widget or follow links into blog post?

    Hiya,
any help would be greatly appreciated on this issue.

Is there a way I can include follow buttons within a blog post?
My idea is to have a single post that sits at the top of the page with a line of text followed by several easy buttons to press to follow my blog, twitter, etc.

I do not want to use the follow button function in the bottom right of the website as this appears on all pages of my website.

    Many thanks in advance,
    Alex.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

You can post as many linked images to social networks as you wish in a sticky post. However, your own sharing buttons won’t automatically lhttp://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/post-visibility/#sticky-postsink like the sharing buttons provided for the end of posts do. You will have to design your own so each ine will link properly to individual posts like the sharing buttons do. For example: You can have both Facebook like & share buttons on your posts.

Frankly I don’t think that generic sharing buttons in a sticky post will be useful for promoting any individual posts.

    Many thanks for your help.

I’ve made a sticky post for my blog which solves my first issue however I’m not sure I was particularly clear previously sorry.

What I would like to achieve in this sticky post is a follow my blog link. As in, something people can click on to subscribe via email to my blog.

i.e. http://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/follow-blog-widget/ – this. But within a blog post that I have made sticky, and not in the corner of the page or on every page.

I have a hidden sidebar, so widget sidebars are useless to me unfortunately.

Again any further help, greatly appreciated.

WordPress.com users who are logged in can follow your blog using the “Follow” link in the gray admin bar that appears at the top of all WordPress.com blogs when you are logged into WordPress.com. Logged out users can use the Follow tab at the bottom right. those are the built in follow options.

The only other way to add the WordPress.com follow blog function is through the follow widget which you have already mentioned. You do need to place that into a widget area, and so if you don’t want to display widgets then you will not be able to display the WordPress.com follow blog widget in another way.

It is possible to setup outside email subscription services separate from WordPress.com an then link to it. One that I’ve seen people use in the past is the FeedBurner Email service. You would want to set it up according to the instructions on feedburner.com and then manually create a link from your post to the FeedBurner Email sign up page given by their service.
