Added add_theme_support( 'custom-background' ); into wrong area

I am using the Soundcheck theme on WordPress and tried to enable theme support/change the background of my audio player widget using “add_theme_support( ‘custom-background’ );” I foolishly did this without a child theme and must have put it in the wrong area and now have the Error 500 screen on everything including my wp-admin panel. I added this file to theme.php in the editor. Is there anyway to fix restore my theme.php to its original state/fix this problem?
