Added blog roll to the front of my page by accident

  I was trying to simply add another link to my blog roll, but it doesn’t work the way it used to and I ended up “adding the widget” even though I already had it. Now my blog roll not only appears where it used to (on the bottom of my home page) but it appears right smack in the middle of my banner on the home page as well. I can’t figure out how to remove it! Please help. Thank you!

  You can remove any widget you installed here > Dashboard > Appearance > Widgets

  I tried that and it didn’t work – it said I could make it “inactive” by dragging it but that didn’t work. Once I got to widgets, there was no option to “remove”, only to ad. My web administrator fixed it for me, but something changed and my widgets don’t work the way they used to. I don’t like whatever “updates” have been made.
