Added Domain and webmaster
-
Hi
I have added domain winkypedia.net to winkypedia.wordpress.com. I have chosen winkypedia.net as the primary domain. I have registered winkypedia.wordpress.com with Google webmaster. I ‘think’ I have followed the instructions under title ‘Using Google Apps for Domains’ in http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/custom-dns/ to verify the domain ownership but I am not sure if I really have done it.
Is there anyway I could check?
I noticed since I have done the above that I start having problem writing post using ‘Visual’ mode using Internet Explorer as I could not click the button to activate the ‘link’ command. I wonder if I have done something I am not supposed to do?
I have done what is said in ‘Adding Custom DNS Records’ in the link mentioned above. Do I need to?
Thanks.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Sorry I meant I HAVE NOT DONE what is said in ‘Adding Custom DNS Records’ in the link mentioned above. Do I need to?

Hi. I doubt Google Apps or changing the DNS records have anything to do with the link button issues. :-)
https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/cant-link?replies=78As for checking if you properly established a CNAME record so that Google identifies you as the domain owner, simply log in to Google Apps and verify if they recognize you as the domain owner. You can also go to http://whatsmydns.net and look up the CNAME for google000000.winkypedia.net (replacing google00.. with your actual verification key).

The link button problem is a site-wide problem, nothing to do with your domain. Staff is aware of the issue and are working to fix it.

Thanks guys for your reply.
I have just checked but http://whatsmydns.net did the CNAME that relates to my blog. Though when I tried to go to Google Apps again and ‘get started’ by re-entering winkypedia.net it said the site ‘is in the process of ownership verification’.
It sounds like something is happening. Normally how long would it take for the verification process to go through? I will wait and check again.

In my case, it took about 20 minutes but it was during the night. Perhaps it takes a little longer if it’s during a weekday morning (in the East Coast). I would say: wait an hour.

Just did the check again and I have the green ticks! It has taken over a day! This is Europe to you. Thanks for your help!
