Added extra parts to the website
-
Hi everyone,
I was wondering if anyone else has the same issue when you first load up the website on the internet and then notice the lettering is very small and the following is visable – “Posted by: Hamletgip I then it shows the date”
and also it says at the bottom and on the side of the page –
“Posted in Uncatorgized”
and then has a box saying “CATEGORIES”
Then when you click on a link and then go back to the home page which has this extra parts they dont appear and the font is then fine!
I have checked in Safari, Internet Explorer and Firefox and the same appears!!!
I have screenshots of the problem if you would like me to send them to you?
Thanks
Richard

For starters we need the URL of the blog in question beginning with http to help us give you accurate help.

Why is your site appearing in an iframe? There was another British blogger that had a similar problem, but of course now I can’t find the thread.
-
@justjennifer: It’s called domain masking and it’s a feature offered by some domain name registrars:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Domain_masking@hamletgip: Did you purchase the CSS Upgrade? If you remove the CSS changes you made and your blog works fine, you may have found the cause of your problems.
By the way, uou don’t have any link to your most recent posts. Your “Home” link is actually a “page”, not the list of your most recent posts. Is that intentional? Just a thought…

iframes are problematic which is why very few people use them anymore. I don’t know that that is the actual issue, but until we get an actual link to the blog itself, and not a link to a page with an iframe in it, we can’t really help much.

OK, I looked at the source code and found this as the blog.
http://www.hamletgip.wordpress.com/
The reason the fonts are small and such is because you have defined them that way in your blog posts. The following is at the beginning of each paragraph in your latest post.
<p style="text-align: left; clear: none; color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-size: 0.75em; line-height: 1.5em; margin: 0.25em 0pt 1em; padding: 0pt 0.75em 0pt 0pt;">You are going to have to either manually remove all that stuff from each and every paragraph, or you have to copy each post out, paste it into a plain text editor such as textedit or notepad, then delete everything in the post and then paste the content back in from the plain text editor.
If you did not put all that stuff in yourself, then it was in whatever you copied and pasted from.

Thanks @airodyssey.
The iframe, both in the OP’s blog and the other blog I mentioned, removes the name of the blog from the title bar. I’m pretty sure there must be search engine ramifications involved.

@justjennifer: I have no idea what an iframe is but I think that domain masking has happened as it looks like the blog does not have the upgrade “Add a domain” so I will enquire with the hosting company and if this has hapened I will have to add this upgrade which might sort this problem out!
We have http://www.hamletgip.org and http://www.hamletgip.wordpress.com/ without paying for the link beween them both! So this may be the issue
@airodyssey: I did purchase the custom CSS and I have taken that out and still has the issue.
@TSP: I have taken out the rouge code and still the issue exists
Do you all see the problem when you first look at the home page?
I am still learning on how to use WordPress and thanks so much for helping me out
Richard
