Added media into block, how to change font size of text for label ? (recreated)

    Hello

    Unfortunately my previous topic was closed due to me not replying. I’m new to all this, did not realise a reply appears on my account in the website, was expecting an email. Oops ! I’ll keep an eye out for responses now I know where they appear :-)

    Here is the question again :-

    If I add a media item on the page, the text label font has suddenly gone really small, so I need to increase the size. Any ideas of how I do this please ? If I add a text block, it’s easy to change the font, but if I add a file (from media that I have uploaded) the label is tiny and there seems to be no option on the web page when I insert/add in the media (usually a pdf). Never had this issue before !

    A staff person named jmills39 kindly responded. This was on November 20th. My original post was November 14th 2023. As I cannot reply on that topic, I’ve created this one (I don’t know a way of directing to the old auto-closed topic).

    Here is my reply to his query :-

    Hi, thanks for the reply, sorry I didn’t see it until now ! It is like your screenshot, the filename is there but the font for it is tiny (and one even shows up as green). I’d like to make the font size the same as all the other file names listed on the page :-

    The above url is public so anyone can view it, I’m happy for people to look.

    We are aware of the theme being old, and there are plans in the works for sorting this, but it is some way down the line in the future when it will be implemented. Thanks for the suggestion though for the quote.

    Sorry once again for failing to be on top of replying, and I do very much appreciate people taking time to respond !

  • Hello! To address this issue, try adding the following text to the additional CSS section of your theme (Appearance > Themes > Personalize > Additional CSS):

    .wp-block-file:not(.wp-element-button) {
        font-size: 1em;
    }

    Since the theme applies a predefined style set for links and file blocks, forcing this new configuration into your CSS code should fix the problem.

    Give it a try, and let me know if it works!
