added member to Website but can't edit?

So I am a new board member on our HOA Website and the original owner is no longer a board member and we are unable to contact them? I was added on by another member but I am trying to add the emails of the other board members to the group email in the “contact” page but I can’t figure out how to do it and it keeps telling me I don’t have access to certain pages? I need to become the owner of the website as I am the secretary and am able to add information but cannot do this one thing?? The help is not very friendly and the site is not very user friendly compared to other sites I have used so what can I do to gain access to do what I need to do? If I try to make a new site it will only confuse the homeowners of the site that has been in existance for many years?

It depends on your user role as to what changes you can make to a WordPress.com site. However it sounds like you need to reach out to the original owner to get them to transfer ownership of the site.
