Addin a post to a static front page

  I bet there is a plug-in I need help finding which one?
  I changed to a static front page form my word press blog in this newest version, for many reasons mostly because it cleaned up a RSS feed problem and my podcast listeners need direction on the front page of my site. Now I am getting request to have the most recent post on the front page. Is there a plug-in that can make this happen? Are there any other ways? Help will be much appreciated.
