Adding a 2nd domain/website

Multiple questions: we have WordPress premium and want to host a second, simple web site with a separate domain name. Do we have to set up a 2nd premium account (this is what the forums seem to say)? Also, when researching web hosting, we only find references to other web hosts (such as BlueHost and Hostgator), why is there nothing referring to pros/cons of hosting from WordPress directly? Should we be hosting with an outside host?

If you want to set up another site with a custom domain, all you would need to do is add the Domain upgrade. Adding WordPress.com Premium is up to you. Just note that a custom domain is included in the upgrade, while the custom domain alone would be $18-$26 depending on if you want to purchase privacy.
Please note that when you set up a site with us at WordPress.com, we are your host. You do not need a separate host like BlueHost or Hostgator. That would only be necessary if you want to move to the self-hosted, WordPress.org. To clear up any confusion, WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two different entities. At WordPress.com, we provide hosting, support, and tons of features for blogs. Users also have the option to purchase a variety of upgrades to customize the look and feel of their blog. WordPress.org is a software for self-hosted sites. With WordPress.org, users are provided access to all backend files and can upload custom themes and plugins.

Thanks for your response. We purchased 2, separate premium wordpress accounts. Could we instead have added a domain to the first premium account but keep both blog/websites completely separate? If so, can you direct me to how to do this? I could not find the answer within the forum, it appeared that it did not work well to have 2 websites on one account. We have registered the domain name of both websites through different entities. Both of these websites are simple sites, if that makes a difference.

If you purchased two separate premium upgrades for two different accounts, you can add a custom domain to both of them. I am currently only seeing this domain:
adoptiontaxcredit.org
