Adding a background

    Question. Is it possible to have an image for your background expand for the whole screen with out tiling?

    As far as I know, no it is not, and the thing is the image will quickly become distorted and pixelated and look bad.

    What I always do is “fix” the image and then choose a background color to go with the image that matches the edges as closely as I can. Alternately I will alter the image so that it fades into my background color at the edges.

    Also, make sure an optimize the image well. In general you do not want a background image over 100k, 150k at the very most because it slows loading times and the search engines consider page loading times in determining search engine ranking. Slow loading sites will not get as high a ranking as fast loading sites, all things considered.
