Adding a background image to theme
-
Hi there,
I am looking to add an advertising background image to my website which uses the “Point” theme.
The theme doesn’t come with a pre-set area to add a background image. Is there a way for me to do this manually?
Many thanks!

That site is not hosted by WordPress.COM and we cannot help you.
WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and have different username accounts, logins, features, run different versions of some themes with the same names, and have separate support documentation and separate support forums. Read the differences here http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
Here’s the link for the forum for the WordPress iphone app so you can post there and make our developers aware of your issue. http://iphone.forums.wordpress.org/

If you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG account, then click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, https://wordpress.org/support/register.php so you can post to the support forums there.

You can add a background through custom CSS, using a custom CSS plugin or child theme.
As timethief pointed out though, these forums are for folks hosted here on WordPress.com, and your site is running on your own hosting.
Follow her directions above to post in the WordPress.org support forums for self-hosted sites, where someone may be able to help:
