Adding a byline to blog title

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hi,

I would like to add a byline to my blog title so that I can include my name. At the moment I’ve just added my name at the end of my blog description, but it looks a bit messy – does anyone know how I can do this?

I also wondered if there’s a way of adding a submit section, so readers can submit their own stories. Is this a possibility, or is the best option to just add a text widget that links my email address?

    Thanks,
    Kayleigh

You can add or modify your tagline in your Dashboard under Settings > General: http://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/general-settings/

Note that different themes handle the display of the tagline differently, so you may wish to experiment with this a bit.

To your second question, you can invite people to contact you if they wish to contribute to your blog, and then you can add them users to your blog. They will have their own accounts and the level of access that you set for them:

May I please provide some advice on Creating an effective Tagline. An effective Tagline is brief, memorable and defines who the blog is for, and what’s in it for them.

Bottom line: An effective tagline is a branding message delivered in keywords and expressed in as few characters as possible. However, I see beginner bloggers entering lengthy spiels that will not be reflected in Google’s indexing and search page results, so that means it will not be effective when it comes to drawing traffic to the blog. The whole concept of creating a Tagline is to differentiate your blogs from others in the same niche. Yet, I even see bloggers using scripture passages in taglines! Don’t do that.
