Adding a category

Hi! I’m trying to add a category to my blog, but it keeps saying that category name already exists. It DID exist, but I deleted it and un-categorized all posts that were under that category. Now I changed my mind and I want to add that category BACK. Yet it still says it exists and won’t allow me to add that word/category to my 3 other categories. Please help!

I would recommend you verify the category was actually deleted through your WP Admin Dashboard; you can access this by adding /wp-admin/ to the end of your website address. For example, http://crackingshell.wordpress.com/wp-admin/
You can then edit categories under Posts -> Categories in your dashboard. Move your mouse over a category and several options will appear that allow you to edit, quick-edit, or delete that category.

Hi! Thanks so much for your reply! It actually wasn’t showing up there either, but after going to that page, I fiddled with some things, and waited…then it all cleared up. Thanks for recommending that I go to the dashboard. I’m still trying to find my way with this site and blogging in general. Cheers! :)
