Adding a contributor

Hi,
Basically, I’m trying to add a contributor to my blog using his email. I’ve done this several times already and have three other contributors, but this time it won’t accept his email address and says it’s not in use, even though I’ve seen his wordpress site. Is there anything which might be stopping this from working properly?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Does he definitely have a WordPress.com account? Or does he have a self-hosted WordPress blog?

macmanx is Staff and I suggest you send all the details regarding this user and his email address to Staff in a support ticket so they can determine why this is happening. http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/Do not post that information to the forum as this is a public forum. .

Something just occured to me. The email address we use to create a username account becomes our unique identifier here at wordpress.com. So if your contributor has provided you with any other email address and not the same one that he registered his username account with that could be the problem. I would confirm that first before contacting Staff.
