adding a contributor/author without creating WP account

  is it possible to add a contributor/author without this person registering and creating an account with WordPress? does that person has to have WP account to contribute and write some article on my blog??

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  No it is not possible. Yes, that person has to have a WP.com account.
