Adding a discussion forum

  Hi!

  I’m looking to allow a discussion forum on out wordpress.com site. From what I can see, I require the business upgrade to be able to do this.

  I would love to have some of this capability more easily accessible! Have I missed a good way to do this or should I upgrade?

  If you want a full discussion forum, then only the Business plan will give you that. However, anyone registering for the forum will also need to have a WordPressdotcom account.

  Without the Business plan, have a look at using the P2 theme https://wordpress.com/themes?s=P2 on a separate WordPressdotcom site. You can then connect the two sites via a custom link in a custom menu. https://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/

  Your forum members will still need to register for a WordPressdotcom account in order to post there.

  Another option is to open a free-hosted forum elsewhere on the web (such as proboards or forummotion) and again connect to it via a custom link on your site. I have no experience or affiliation with these external forums.
