Adding a donation button to my wedding gift registry page from paypal

  I tried to see if I could add a code we got from paypal to our wedding registry website on wordpress that would allow us to receive gifts. I copied the code from paypal to paste in my text editor for my gift registry tab and my site shows the full code instead of the paypal donation button with options. Help!
