Adding a file attachment to contact forms

I’m building a new site and wanted to add the ability for customers to add a file to an email contact form they fill out to send to me.
I’ve had a look through the forum, this topic’s come up twice (2014 and 15) with a ‘Can’t do’ response, with a note at the time it was on WordPress’ ‘To Do’ list.
Is it now possible to add a file attachment to am email contact form? If not, anyone have any workarounds?
    Thanks

Hi there, can you share the address of the site where you want to use this feature? That way we can make sure you are getting the right information for your site. Thanks.

  • Hey there,

While it is not possible to add an upload option with the Form Block, there are a couple of workarounds.

The first workaround would be to have the visitor upload the document or file to a service like Google Drive and then provide a link to the document.

The second option would be a third-party form plugin. There are several form plugins available, some of which have this functionality. This option would require a plugin-supported plan and as well as the setup for the third-party plugin.

    Hope this helps!

If by chance you don’t have the WordPress.com Business or eCommerce plan to access plugins, I’d suggest giving Wufoo or Jotform a try.
