Adding a footer to each screen
-
Dear Help,
I would like to know when our website was first published so I can created a copyright line in the style of © <year of publication> The Big Blue Box Ltd. Is this date held anywhere on our site? How do I know when we first published please?
I would also like to have this line display at the bottom of each screen / page so it it s clear to anyone reading it that it is our copyright but I am not sure how to add this “footer” to the bottom of each screen, can you help with that too please, thank you.
:-)
Claire

Hi there!
Staff can help you determine when your blog was created. I have tagged this thread for them to follow-up. Please subscribe to this thread so you are notified when they reply and please be patient while waiting.
You can add a copyright line in your blog’s footer using CSS. You can ask in the CSS Customization forum and Staff or other community volunteers specializing in CSS would be happy to help you do that.
Before you add a copyright line to your blog’s footer, you’ll need the Custom Design upgrade. If you haven’t upgraded to that yet, you can do so through your Store page here: http://thebigbluebox.wordpress.com/wp-admin/paid-upgrades.php
Note that you are required to maintain the credit links in the footer. Please do not hide or alter text or links for the footer credits. Modifying the style of the footer text (i.e. colors and font size) is fine as long as it’s still readable.
Here’s more information on the Custom Design upgrade:

Your first Posts were in Sept 2009: https://thebigbluebox.wordpress.com/2009/09/
No need for the fancy upgrade – you can add a copyright notice in your sidebar using a text widget – or if you really want the copyright notice in the footer area – choose a theme that has Footer Widgets and put the notice in a Text Widget in the Footer Widget (I put my copyright in a Footer Widget area using a Text Widget – saved money)
