adding a forum to my blog

  Hello: I am new to blogging and wordpress.com. I would like to add what may be called a forum to my blog. Have seen things like it on other blogs. Looks sort of like a word table with columns on top such as:
  Topic Topic Starter Replies Views Rating Last Post

  Does this ring a bell with anyone? I may be using the wrong term, it may not be a forum. IS it a plug-in? I am looking for a free option.

  You cannot add a forum to a blog here at wordpress.COM. You will have to host the forum somewhere else on the web and then link to it from your blog. If you search the internet for “free online forum” you should get a few hits to places that offer them for free, but you will have to put up with the ads they will insert into the forum posts and into the forum itself.

  Also, we cannot use plugins at wordpress.COM: http://en.support.wordpress.com/plugins/ .
