Adding a .gif link in sidebar?

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hi,

I want to add a .gif file as a link to the news aggregator website NewsNow on my blog, but have no idea how to do it.

I have the .gif that I want to use, but need to know how to actually put if in my sidebar. I use the ‘contempt’ theme.

    Can anyone help?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hello,
    Here is the code
    <a target="_blank" href="URL-of-LINK"><img src="URL-of-IMAGE" border="0"/></a>
url of image ? in your media library (modify image > the address is over there)

(do not forget the link between the threads of this forum & your blog ;-)

Put it in a text widget.

Ok, have put in a text widget…..but you will have to bear with me as I have no idea of how to get said widget to display the aforementioned gif/link

i am a total novice when it comes to editing html etc and actually have no idea how to even go about it….any chance u could dumb it down to one-armed, blind monkey level? lol

Oh, think I have got it working….found a video tutorial on the site….check it out and let me know if u think it needssome tweaking and, if so, how i could tweak it…

    thanks!

    Hi again,

If you want to have a huge one
    <a target="_blank" href="http://www.newsnow.co.uk/h/Sport/Football/Premier+League/Arsenal/All+Sources"><img class="alignnone" style="border:0 none;" src="http://www.newsnow.co.uk/logos/NNanim_featured_blk.gif" alt="" width="180" height="70" /></a>

If you want to keep the one you have now, centered onto the sidebar width

    <p style="text-align:center;"><a target="_blank" href="http://www.newsnow.co.uk/h/Sport/Football/Premier+League/Arsenal/All+Sources"><img src="http://www.newsnow.co.uk/logos/NNanim_featured_blk.gif" border="0" /></a></p>
    ="0"/></a>

    You’re welcome. Have a nice day :)

    ´<p style=”text-align:center;”><img src=”http://www.newsnow.co.uk/logos/NNanim_featured_blk.gif” border=”0″ /></p>´

I don’t think I’ve been that brillant (and if Raincoaster hadn’t posted the most important info, my reply would have been useless) but it’s very kind of you, thanks a lot :)

got a similar problem, i’ve added an image widget and uploaded a gif. into it, but on the main page it stands still. clikking it a sub-window opens displaying the gif in movement. i’d like to have it in motion on the main page..anyone, any idea?
    thanks in advance
