Adding a Header Image to Linen? Adding more than one page to linen?
-
Hi- I purchased the linen theme because I like it’s clean look. Still, I want a header image. How can I use CSS to do this?
Also, part of the reason why I bought the theme is because it was supposed to allow for multiple pages. It will only allow one–About. I need 5 more!
Last, I am a CSS retard. I get that you can choose to copy and paste the code or over-ride, I just don’t know HOW. Anyone willing to help a new beginner for a good cause? Please?
Thanks,
Keri

For questions specific to premium themes like Linen, you can ask for help on the dedicated premium themes forum which you can find linked on the https://en.forums.wordpress.com/ page if you are logged in as a site owner who has purchased a theme.
To set a background image, first you’ll need to create one that’s the right size. Something 900px wide should work. Upload it to your media library and copy the image URL from the image edit page in the media library.
Try out the code below and replace IMAGE_URL with your image URL and IMAGE_URL_HEIGHT with the height of the image you uploaded.
#description { background: url(IMAGE_URL) no-repeat 0 20px; height: IMAGE_URL_HEIGHT; }You can have multiple pages on Linen, you can see that working in the demo at http://linendemo.wordpress.com/ First, try adding additional pages through the Pages → Add New section in the dashboard. It’s also possible to setup a custom menu. Check out the Custom Menu help page.
For a good beginner reference, check out http://www.htmldog.com/guides/cssbeginner/
And if you have more questions, ask them here if they’re about CSS in general and ask in the premium themes forum if they are specific to Linen.
